Imagine, Inc.

The office building for Imagine Inc., currently in design, will be a model for sustainable design throughout the region. The integrated design team of the Architect, Owner, and Engineers have infused the project with a wealth of design features. The building is configured and sited for optimum passive solar advantage on an infill site. The site features permeable drives and parking areas, bioswales, and a generous use of native and drought-tolerant plants. Various roof planes serve different purposes * hosting solar panels, harvesting rainwater, and containing flats of plant media. The roof and walls are comprised of ICFs, SIPs, and enhanced convention wood framing. Generous glazing on the south wall and clearstories permit an abundance of natural light and allow for retention of heat in the radiant concrete floors and trom wall. Finishes include repurposed and rapidly renewable wood products and no VOC paint. WaterSense* plumbing fixtures and Energy Star* Appliances are used throughout. A geothermal heat pump supports a high efficiency HVAC system. Lighting and ventilation is carefully controlled using monitors and sensors. This project is intended to be a net zero facility and is on track for a LEED platinum certification. The desired outcome of the project is to introduce customers and the public to sustainable construction through demonstration of a socially responsible and healthy work environment.
